Lenny I. Silvestre
Ms. Silvestre graduated from the University of the East in 1971 where she earned her BSBA – Accounting degree. She passed the CPA Board Exam in the same year and started her career in banking in a commercial bank.
She started her career in BSP in 1977 as a Bank Examiner. As she climbed up the corporate ladder, she got promoted to various positions in the organization – Senior Bank Examiner (1983), Senior Bank Officer (1988), Supervising Bank Examiner (1990), Chief Bank Examiner (1993), Manager (1994) and Deputy Director (2003). In 2005, she was promoted to Director and headed the then Supervision and Examination Department I (SEDI) which examines and supervises universal banks. Barely a year after, she was appointed as Acting Managing Director of the Supervision and Examination Sub-sector I (SESS I) which conducts on-site examination of banks. She became full-fledged Managing Director in 2007. In 2010, she was re-assigned to Supervision and Examination Sub-sector III (SESS III) which handles off-site supervision of banks. With her 34 years of experience in BSP, she is well-rounded in banking examination and supervision.
Aside from her job in BSP, she also sits as a Director and Chairman of the Investment Committee of DSE (BSP) Credit Cooperative. In March 2011, the Society of Fellows conferred upon her the title of Fellow of the Institute of Corporate Directors. She is also a Career Executive Service (CESO) eligible since 2002.
Ms. Silvestre is married to Jaime Silvestre, a commercial pilot. A dedicated wife and mother of four children, she values quality time spent with her family.
